Hello, My name is Andrea, please call me Andi. I want you to know how deeply I appreciate you looking at my profile and considering me as a parent for your child. This must be an incredibly difficult time for you and I wish you much peace of mind. I honor you for the courage that you have as you make the important decisions in front of you. Thank you for considering me.
I am a life long Philadelphian. I am an outgoing person who loves to connect with people. I am a single woman with a large extended family of parents, aunts/uncles and cousins in the area. In addition, I am part of a large community. Though I left the area for ten years of schooling I have been back in the community for 16 years. I live in a wonderful, safe and diverse area in a home that I own right outside of the city.
I have an extremely close relationship with my siblings and parents. My parents are wonderful people and they are local. My dad is family doctor. My mom had her own business for many years and now does volunteer work. My brother lives an hour away with his family, and my sister and her family live in Boston. We speak every day and are very much a large, loud and loving extended family. We love to gather for holiday dinners or for lazy days down the shore in the summer. I am very close with my teen niece and nephew.
Professionally I work as a member of the clergy. I am a rabbi and I work at a large synagogue as part of a team. I love to meet families at all points in their lives and to help them to find spiritual meaning and comfort. I am also an activist for those in need.
Fifteen years ago I founded a food pantry. My work involves a great deal of time with children of all ages. My congregants often tell me that I would be a wonderful mom; I yearn to be a mom and to provide a warm, loving, fun, creative home for a child. Because I work in a large community I have some flexibility in my schedule and my co-workers and congregants are very excited and supportive of my building a family.
In my work and family I have always loved helping kids to discover who they are and what special gifts they have been given. Though I am not yet married, I do hold out hope for that kind of committed relationship. In the meantime, I do not want to miss out on the blessings of raising children. With that in mind, and with the strong support of all those around me, I am excited to build my family through adoption. Please know that in my family your child would always know unconditional love, and I would, of course, be open to having you in our lives also.
When I am not working I love to cook big dinners for friends and family. I love to ride my bike, especially at the shore. I also love to sing. There is always music in my life. I am a movie buff and love pop culture. I enjoy travel and would want my child to see the world and experience many cultures.
As you can see, I am a person of faith and consider my life to be blessed. I would love to add one more blessing of children to my life, and to share my blessings. I wish you good luck in your upcoming decisions and in the months ahead. I am hoping that I will be able to learn more about you and your family.

Mary & Norman
We are honored and excited to present you with this little portrait of who we are and our deep hopes for adoption. Thank you so much for taking the time to get to know us a little.
You and your baby are front and center in our hearts. We are confident that you will find the clarity you need to make the best decision for you and your baby.
We have dreamed of being parents together from the beginning of our relationship. Mary is a devoted, respected and beloved teacher of early childhood dance. When not teaching two- to five-year-olds, Mary enjoys yoga, meditation, working out, relaxing under the trees in Riverside Park, reading, and using her imagination to plan special events. Norman describes Mary as “a very kind and loving soul. He “admires her honesty — most importantly her honesty with herself. A passionate teacher, great friend, and loving confidante, she has an innate ability to make others feel special.”
Norman loves everything about concrete. In addition to working as a cement mason foreman for a high-rise-building construction company, he also works independently and creatively making beautiful decorative concrete floors in homes and businesses. At home, Norman enjoys experimenting in the kitchen and cooking healthy meals for family and friends. He has a natural talent for repairing and improving almost anything and is generous with that skill among friends and family. Mary describes Norman as “generous of spirit” and says “he loves deeply. He is a devoted partner and a wonderful father.”
We live in a big, beautiful apartment on the Upper West side of Manhattan, a diverse neighborhood buzzing with family-friendly activity every day of the week. Our family and friends are extremely supportive and excited about our decision to adopt.
It is our pledge to honor our child’s birth story. We are hopeful that adoption for us will be the beginning of an extraordinary relationship with you if you desire, built in openness, love, respect and trust.
Thank you for getting to know us and we welcome you to find out more about us.

Libby & Matt
Hello. We are Libby and Matt. Thank you so much for taking the time to get to know us.
The fact that you are considering adoption for your child is truly amazing and we can honestly say that we are humbled by your courage and strength. You know what is best for your child and we respect the decisions that you will make.
We have known each other for nearly 15 years and have been happily married for seven. We have a great relationship built on mutual respect, trust and compromise. We always wanted to have a family and adoption is the best choice for us. We are so happy about the possibility of being parents.
We both work in marketing—Matt on the research side of things and Libby on the more creative end. In our free time, Matt likes to grow his own vegetables and is a grill-master extraordinaire. If there is a long week-end, you’ll find Matt smoking a brisket and Libby making the side dishes for a backyard barbeque. We both love to entertain our family and friends when we have the chance. In recent years, Libby has taken up sewing and likes to create things for her home, family and friends. Libby is also a musician and is looking forward to sharing her love and appreciation for music with her child.
We live just outside of Philadelphia in Ardmore, PA in a very close-knit, family friendly neighborhood with many children of all ages and a great elementary school within walking distance. While Libby’s family lives in Ohio and we visit a few times a year for birthdays and holidays, Matt’s family lives in Philadelphia and we see them all the time. Both sides of our family are looking forward to welcoming a new member and couldn’t be more pleased that we’ve chosen adoption to grow our family.
Again, thank you for taking the time to get to know us.

Blythe & Matt
Hello! We are Blythe and Matt, a fun-loving couple who have been married for eight years. We thank you for the time you’re spending to learn about us.
We understand that this time is difficult for you and we honor your feelings and choices as you decide what is best for you and your child.
We know these difficult choices are made out of love and we admire your strength and courage. We are honored and grateful that you are considering us.
We have been together for thirteen years and having a child has always been a dream of ours. We came to adoption after struggling to have biological children. As we embrace all of the important people in our lives as family, we recognize that family is built on love, not biology. We are excited to become parents through the gift of adoption.
We have loving and supportive family and friends who will share in our joy as we welcome a child into our lives. We will unconditionally love our child, nurturing them as they grow and encouraging exploration of their unique interests and talents.
We hope this book provides a sense of who we are and of all of the love, caring, and support we’re ready to give as we welcome a child into our family. Thank you so much for taking the time to learn about us. We wish you peace and strength now and always.

Shannon & Jeff
Hello! We are Jeff and Shannon. Thank you for giving us this opportunity to introduce our family to you. We admire your strength and courage in your journey and are humbled to be considered as the potential adoptive parents to your child.
Along with our two-year-old daughter, Lilah, Jeff also has two older children, Moira (21) and Will (19). We are looking forward to expanding our family with another child, and Lilah can’t wait to be a big sister!
A little about us: We live in a diverse neighborhood in South Jersey, about 15 minutes from Philadelphia. We have two golden retrievers, Jackson and Amos. Our circle of friends includes four families with adopted children.
Jeff loves sports; especially the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles and good health is an important part of his life. He is a regular at the gym and also enjoys golf, camping, and bike rides with Lilah.
On the weekends you can find Shannon, Jeff, and Lilah hanging out at the neighborhood pool or taking a bicycle ride to get ice cream after dinner. Shannon also enjoys yoga, horseback riding, gardening, and projects around the house.
We are both passionate about our jobs. Jeff works as a homebuilder and is the “chief problem solver”, always coming up with a solution to problems that seem unsolvable. Shannon works as the creative director for a non-profit in Camden that serves hundreds of children and teens each year.
We feel blessed with the opportunity to expand our family again through open adoption. It’s important for us that our child grows up with a full sense of his/her history, including you. We look forward to finding a fit that works best for the child, you, and us which will allow for a developing relationship together over the years. We are committed to ensuring that our child grows up feeling loved, valued and protected.
Thank you for considering our family and allowing us to introduce ourselves.

Sandra & Liza
We are deeply honored and humbled that you are taking the time to consider our story as you consider such a profound, difficult decision.
We want to thank you for your courage and your willingness to read more about us.
Our hearts go out to you, and we wish the very best for you and your child, today and in the future.
We’re Sandra and Liza. We first met each other and fell in love 14 years ago, and we adopted our first child, Santiago, four years ago. We have always known we want to raise a family together, and we are eager to welcome another child into our lives–and Santiago very much wants to be a big brother!
In our daily lives, we believe in living in the moment and in soaking in each new day with its joys and challenges. We love the outdoors, the simple pleasure of sharing meals together, and the opportunity to laugh every day. We take as much joy in a walk around the block with our dog as we do in a hike in one of the National Parks we love to visit. We care deeply about our community and the wider world, and are committed to living a simple life full of rich experiences. We live with intention and believe in letting our actions show who we are and who we want to be.
We are both passionate about our work as teachers; we both teach at Quaker schools because we share in the Quaker belief that there is something sacred within each and every individual. Sandra teaches Spanish, her native tongue, and Music to students in pre-K through 4th grade. Liza teaches English Literature, her greatest passion, to middle and high school students. We are both at our best when we are sharing our knowledge and our love of learning with young people; we both see teaching as a way of being in the world, not just a profession or career. Our experiences as teachers have given us a deep desire to provide our children with love, freedom, and safety as they explore many different passions, beliefs and ideas.
We believe strongly in the value of knowing one’s past and history, and in the importance of honesty and integrity. We feel so lucky to include Santiago’s birth family in our lives through visits, stories and photographs. We are committed to having an open adoption with you if that is something you would like. We would love our child to know the woman who made this choice and to recognize the love and the courage she has shared with both our child and with us.
Again, we thank you for taking the time to learn a bit more about us through this profile. We have great faith that you are on the path to finding the best parents for your child, and that our second child is on his or her own journey towards us.

Thank you for taking the time to look at my profile. My name is Stefanie and I am very excited about creating a family through adoption.
I am sure I do not know how it feels to be in your shoes at this moment.
I would like to extend my warmest wishes for you. I sincerely believe that you will make the best decision for you and your child. From the bottom of my heart, I wish you both well and extend my utmost gratitude for considering adoption and considering me.
I have a lot to offer a child, all of which I can’t wait to share. I live in a safe, child-friendly neighborhood in Brooklyn, New York. Children play in the courtyard of my complex and in the park one block away. The library is just around the corner. My parents, two sisters, and their families are also very excited to welcome a child into our family through adoption and support my decision 100%. I have a circle of loving friends near by who are supportive and ready to lend a hand. Being a college professor gives me financial stability, flexibility to take care of a sick child, and summers off to play. My job also means I have a strong commitment to education and know what children need in order to get to college and be successful there and beyond. I pursue an active and healthy lifestyle, so I’m ready to keep up with a little one. I know motherhood is sure to throw plenty of challenges at me. I am prepared to meet them.
I look forward to showering a child with love. My heart is ready for the joy of raising a child. I look forward to watching him or her grow, learn and experience the world. I think it is important to encourage the unique person that child becomes. I know how fortunate I am and am grateful for the many blessings life has granted me. I am eager to devote those blessings to a child.
I honor the sacred decision before you. I wish you wisdom, courage, and peace in your mind, heart and soul, now and always.
Fun Facts about Stefanie

Elise & Robert
We’re Robert and Elise. We’re hardworking, dedicated, and strongly believe in being useful to our families and community. We met and became friends in 1996 when we were 16.
We lost touch while Robert was in Marine Corps boot camp and Elise was in college, but reunited as Best Man and Maid of Honor when Elise’s best friend married Robert’s brother in 2001. We got married in October of 2004, and soon after we eagerly set out to start a family. We moved into our first home on our first anniversary and our first daughter was born less than two months later.
We’ve always loved the idea of a big family and three years later we discovered we were having twins! The challenges and joys of raising two infants at the same time (along with their big sister) showed us the tremendous joy of each child being a unique individual, and that love is an ever expanding force – there is no limit to it. We were thrilled to open our hearts, home, and family to a baby boy in 2013 through adoption, and we believe that it is vital both for him and our family as a whole to complete it by adopting for a second time.
A little bit more about us and our interests: After eleven years of marriage, we laugh about how similar our goals and interests are, yet how completely opposite we are in how we pursue them. For example – we both love creating interesting and useful spaces (gardens, rooms, bookshelves – you name it). Elise delves deep into the planning and visualization of these spaces, meanwhile Robert is in the next room bashing out the wall getting ready for the project! Another example is fitness. We both enjoy exercise and pushing our bodies to their limits, but while Robert enjoys running long distance in his minimalist shoes and participating in extreme obstacle challenges outside and by himself, Elise heads out most mornings to hit the gym for either weight training or intervals – inside with friends. We use our fitness as a tool to participate more fully in our daily lives. Robert runs to stay limber for his manual job, and Elise gets her “grownup” time out of the way so she can commit her days to being fully present with the kids. We are blessed that she can be at home full time and Robert works hard to make it possible.
We can only imagine how much soul searching and anguish you must be going through as you make these difficult decisions for yourself and your child. We hope for you clarity and peace. You are a strong and courageous woman and we honor your process. Our hearts and prayers are with you on your journey.

Erin & Nate
We’re high school sweethearts. We’re so lucky to have found one another so early in life. Nate proposed to Erin at the Bloomsburg Fair, and we got married in 2006 in Pennsylvania on a beautiful Fall day.
We’ve grown up together, and we love to be together.
We balance each other—Erin’s feisty and Nate’s laid back. Nate’s athletic; Erin’s artistic. Nate’s an introvert; Erin’s an extrovert. We know what the other person is going to say before they say it. We can tell each other whole sentences with a single look.
We travel. We make a yearly trip to Florida to visit Erin’s sister (and Disney princesses). We’ve kissed the Blarney Stone in Ireland and had tea in England. We jump in ocean waves and play miniature golf on the boardwalk.
We play. Together we can make just about any occasion fun. And we love to play with our daughter—from jumping in leaf piles to building snowmen to hosting fancy tea parties in our living room with chocolate milk and cookies. We laugh a lot.
We’re happy just being together. We love fall festivals, eating out, playing Scrabble, and snuggling up with a good holiday movie by the fireplace.
We love each other always and forever. We’re soul mates, We love our family and being parents, and we’re so excited about the possibility of growing our family through adoption.
Fun Facts about Erin and Nate
Favorite Places: We love going places! Some of our favorite places include the boardwalk, the tropics, and artist towns along the New England coast. We love traveling, in part, because we love coming home.
Favorite Sports Teams: For Erin, it’s the Boston Red Sox—once you’ve experienced the Green Monster, there’s no turning back. For Nate, it’s the Minnesota Vikings and Detroit Lions (in part because he loves to watch football on Thanksgiving). Really, though, we’re college sports fans—cheering on our alma maters through winning (and losing) seasons.
Favorite Hobbies: Erin loves painting; Nate enjoys running and golf. We like to hike and garden together. Favorite Holidays: Our clear favorite is Thanksgiving. We have a whole Thanksgiving ritual: First Nate runs an annual race, which we all go to, sipping hot cocoa and cheering him on. Then, we stop at his sister’s house to visit with his family before heading to Erin’s parents’ house to make the Thanksgiving feast for her family. It’s a day filled with family, laughter, and coziness—our favorite things.
Favorite Music: We like a whole range of music—From classic Frank Sinatra to Willie Nelson to pop chart hits. We’ll both admit to performing concerts in the car on occasion. We visit the symphony when it comes to town, and we enjoy Broadway performances.
Barbara & Nancy
Hello, we are Barbara and Nancy. We would like to thank you for looking at our profile and getting to know us a little bit.
We know that right now you are facing a very difficult decision, but we also want you to know that we think you are very brave and loving no matter which path you decide to take.
We also know that it is hard to get to know someone just by reading a profile, but we hope you will be able to get a sense of who we are through these words and photos.
When we met in 2010, it turned out we lived three blocks away from each other in Brooklyn. We fell in love and built a bond and knew we wanted to be together for the rest of our lives. We married in 2013 at an old carriage house in our neighborhood, and we were blessed to be surrounded by accepting and loving friends and family.
The strength of our relationship lies in the deep love and respect we feel for each other, and that we share so many values: honesty, kindness, caring, and the importance of dedication and hard work. Barbara has worked for the same publishing company in Manhattan since graduating from college, and Nancy has worked in advertising for almost fifteen years and is also an artist who often shows her work in galleries. We surround ourselves with loving family, friends, neighbors, laughter, music, art, reading and outdoor activities. We also like to volunteer our time to help others.
We have a lot of fun together, whether it’s traveling to a new destination or one of our favorite ones—we love the mountains and beach. We’ve been through a lot of sad times too, and we know that we can rely upon each other and our big family and group of friends to get through hard times. We have both found that laughter is a good way to remind us of the joys in life.
We have a lot of children of all ages in our lives. Between us we have twelve nieces and nephews and many neighbors and friends with children of all ages who we spend our time with. Our long-lasting and close relationships have created an extended family community that we both rely on and contribute to on a daily basis.
We both knew we wanted to have children and build a family. It soon became clear to us that the best way for us to build our family would be through the gift of adoption. We are so grateful for all that we have together and the love that we’ve found. We are a team, and strive to make each other happy and healthy, and we can’t wait to share our life and love together with a child and to give him or her the best chance for a happy life.
We are grateful and honored that you’re considering us to be a part of your child’s life, and we will give that child all of our love and support, and provide him or her with as many opportunities as we possibly can. If you feel we are the right couple to parent your child, we’d love to meet you.
We truly wish you peace and strength during this journey.

Although we cannot imagine the challenge of making this decision, we want you to know that we are dedicated to making a wonderful home for your child, and hope to work together to be part of each other’s lives, if that feels right to you.
We look forward to meeting you and to beginning this beautiful adventure together. Thank you for taking the time to get to know us.

Justin & Vincent
Hello. We are humbled and grateful that you have chosen to learn about us by reading our story and looking at some of our family pictures. Thank you for this opportunity.
We are Vincent and Justin. We have been a couple for about ten years, and married for over two years. We first got to know one another working at a high school in downtown Philadelphia in 2005. Justin was a high school English teacher for ten years and is currently a Dean of Literacy Instruction for two elementary and middle schools. Vincent was a high school English teacher for three years and is currently a senior leader for a school network in underserved urban communities across the state. Our life’s work has been to ensure all children have access to a quality education.
Since long before we ever met, we both always understood that we wanted to be parents one day. We had rich and fulfilling childhoods and have wanted to share that experience with a child of our own. Being gay, we had no idea how that would ever happen, but we were determined to try. After getting married in 2014, we began the process of starting our own family.
We cannot imagine how difficult this situation must be for you. You have our respect and our prayers. We know that you want the best for your child, and we wish you well in whatever decision you make. We also want the best for your child no matter what, and if given the sacred trust of raising that child, we will do our very best to provide him or her with a happy home full of love and learning.
Thank you again for your interest in our story.

Fun Facts about Justin and Vince
Favorite Place: You only live once, so we love to travel. We have been to Europe and the Caribbean, and from California to Florida, but our favorite is to go to the beach on Cape Cod. The sunlight shines differently up there. It’s beautiful and relaxing. Favorite Hobbies: Vincent loves to cook and host friends and family for dinners. Justin likes to eat what Vincent cooks, but he makes tasty desserts including ice cream. Friday night usually finds us chilling on the couch watching our favorite shows or music videos, but we do like to be outside going on hikes and bike rides.
Favorite Holidays: All of them. We are very festive, whether it’s giving out candy at our neighborhood Halloween block party or cooking Thanksgiving dinner with family and friends. When school lets out for Christmas break, we fly away to some new part of the world that we’ve never seen before.
Favorite Music: Vincent is the biggest music fan, having grown up dancing with his family to Michael Jackson and Patsy Cline. Right now he’s into Beyonce and any 90s alternative rock. Justin has been a classical music and jazz fan since he was a kid, and likes folk and rock. We go to concerts in the summer.
Lori & Scott
Hello! We are Lori, Scott and Soren (an artist, a pastor, and a toddler), and we are so excited to grow our family through adoption!
Our family life is all about love and belonging, accepting (and laughing with) our quirks and finding joy in community.
We have room in our hearts for another member of this family and believe that we can provide a loving and stable environment. We want our children to grow up understanding their gifts and story.
In the midst of so many changes and choices in your life, we’d like to thank you for taking the time to learn about us.

Marie-Claire & David
Hello! We are Marie-Claire and David. Thank you for looking at our profile and considering us as parents for your child. We appreciate what an important decision this is for you.
We want you to know that we admire your courage and strength.
We met in 2007 while taking a photography class in South Philadelphia. After getting to know each other in class, we began spending time together outside of class and found we had a bond that we’d never experienced with anyone else before. We were married in 2010 and have been enjoying the journey through life together ever since. Our relationship is strong because we share core values of open communication, showing respect for each other every day, and having fun together. When we come home from work every day, we spend time talking to each other about our day or anything else we think of. There always seems to be something we want to share with the other person!
David is a technician at a hospital and Marie-Claire works in finance at a mutual fund company. We live in Philadelphia in a family-friendly neighborhood. We participate in a lot of community activities and often talk about how much we look forward to bringing our child along with us. David has three daughters from his first marriage who are all in their 20s. One of the things that impressed Marie-Claire the most about David was the wonderful job he did raising his girls. They are all remarkable women who love to spend time with us. They are looking forward to welcoming a brother or sister into the family and being the cool big sisters!
We are so excited about expanding our family. We often discuss all the wonderful things about life that we want to show him or her. We can’t wait to teach them about the world and provide a safe, happy and loving environment where our child can feel proud of themselves and who they are.
Thank you for taking the time to learn about us. We hope you find peace and strength as you move through your decision.

Zakiyyah & Ty
We are Zakiyyah, Zoe and Ty and we are excited about the prospect of expanding our family through adoption. Thank you for taking the time to read our profile. Hopefully, after you read our story and look through the pictures of us and our family and friends, it will give you a clear glimpse into our lives.
We sincerely hope that you will be able to imagine what kind of parents we will be and how we will nurture and bring up your child.
We met online in our early 30s, and found that in addition to careers in science fields, we had many similar interests, including our love of animals, sports and music. We dated for 3 years before getting married in 2011. We live in the suburbs of Philadelphia in a comfortable townhouse in a family-oriented development. Seeing so many young children in our neighborhood, we were anxious to start a family right away. Unfortunately, medical issues prevented us from conceiving, and after unsuccessful attempts at in vitro fertilization, we decided to build our family through adoption. We adopted our daughter Zoe in 2014 and she has truly changed our lives for the better.
We know from experience that adoption is not a process to be entered into lightly or without a lot of thought and consideration. We chose adoption because we want to be able to provide a child with a wonderful life and all the advantages that we ourselves had growing up. We have discussed our decision in depth with our families. They have been very supportive, and we know they will always be there for us.
Venturing into a new area as parents of multiple children may be a bit more challenging, but we welcome it with open arms because the rewards of having a second child will be unlimited. It will certainly be an adventure that we can’t wait to go on and one that will be better than anything we could have imagined.
Fun Facts about Zakiyyah and Ty
Favorite places: San Diego – where we were engaged; Niagara Falls, Canada – our family vacation spot; Target – Zakiyyah’s favorite bargain hunting spot.
Favorite foods: Macaroni and Cheese is Zoe’s favorite. Ty likes seafood and Zakiyyah enjoys pizza and cookies.
Favorite Hobbies: We like to travel, particularly going on road trips. We also try to get to a Rock concert or comic convention at least once a year.
Favorite Holidays: Halloween – we look forward to planning our group themed costumes and decorating; Birthdays – free cake!
