We’re Allison and Bhima. We’ve known each other since childhood, happily married for two years, together for 5. We’re ready to grow our family and become first-time parents.

For us, adoption is an act of paying it forward. Allison is an adoptee herself, and from day one of our relationship, we knew we wanted to create our family this way. We’re beyond excited to share the life experiences we’ve gathered to raise a Black child and to create a safe environment steeped in our deep love and appreciation for our culture. We promise that any child in our home will be loved, supported, and celebrated.

Fun Facts about Allison & Bhima

Favorite places: New Orleans is a city we love! It’s one of the first places we traveled to together, and we go as often as possible for the delicious food, lovely people, and great music. We also have land in Upstate New York and love spending a ton of time in the country! We hike, camp, work on our property, and eat local fresh foods when we go up.

Favorite hobbies: We love reading, days in the park with our nephews, and watching great films, TV, and theatre – especially by Black creators.

Favorite holidays: Allison is a big Christmas person, and over the course of our relationship Bhima has warmed up to how over the top Allison’s decorations and festivities can get. This past year he even went along with matching pajamas for Christmas morning!

Favorite music: We love a range of music from RnB and HipHop to soul to Pop to Musical Theatre. The most recent concerts and festivals we’ve attended are Anita Baker, Governors Ball, Something In the Water Festival, Katrynada, and Beyonce.
