Hello,

 

Thank you so much for letting us introduce ourselves. We have so much respect and admiration for you, and hope that this book will paint a full picture of us as individuals, as a couple, and as potential adoptive parents.

When we met, fell in love, and got married, we decided to pursue the gift of adoption. While we have different personalities, we complement each other well, and know that we will do the same as parents. Our own parents prioritized education and life-long learning and have been infinitely supportive of us.

We are surrounded by loving friends and family. Jessica’s mother and stepfather live in our apartment building, and Brian’s brother and his husband live a short train ride away. Our beloved eight-year-old niece, who was adopted by Jessica’s brother and his wife and often visits us with her parents, has been a huge inspiration to us.

If and when we are lucky enough to raise a child, we hope to help them discover who they are and what they are passionate about. We believe in encouraging strong bonds with friends and family and fostering curiosity about the wider world. Most importantly, we hope to raise a child who knows that they are loved.

We know you have much to figure out as you make this decision, and we wish for the best for you and your baby as you embark on this process.

Favorite holidays: Halloween, because we get to give out candy to Trick-or-Treaters in our apartment building, and Christmas, because we get to spend time with family
