Considerations and Preparations Before Baby’s Arrival on 6/7/22 (virtual)
June 7, 2022 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
It’s natural to wonder what the days will be like before your baby comes home to you. There are so many unknowns throughout the adoption process and the experience you will have just before you adopt is yet another unknown. But hearing about the common scenarios our families have experienced over the past 15 years, can be useful in helping you feel prepared for what might be ahead for you. In this workshop, we will talk about practical ways to prepare in advance for baby, visiting with potential birthmom in hospital, “last minute adoptions”, well-baby nursery and NICU protocol, interim care, ICPC (Interstate Compact for the Protection of Children) process, etc. Please join us to discuss these issues and lots more and to learn how Open Arms will support both you and the birth family through this very important experience. Facilitators: Meredith Rose & Michele LeMasney, Open Arms
