Gabriel & Connor

Hello! Thank you for taking the time to get to know us! We are an easygoing family living
in New Jersey. We are so excited about welcoming another child into our family. We both
come from big family-orientated homes (and Gabriel’s sister is also starting the
adoption journey!)

We can’t wait to welcome a sibling for Max, teaching them to cook up a feast in the
kitchen, getting going on a family DIY-project and of course, family game night! In
general we enjoy interacting with people, nature and the world in which we live.

Fun Facts About Gabriel & Connor

Favorite places: One of our favorite places is Ireland. Gabriel’s family share a home on the western coast of Ireland which we often go to on vacation. While there, we swim in the sea (on the rare chance it isn’t raining), go on long walks, and sit and relax by the fireplace.

Favorite foods: One of our favorite meals is homemade pizza and garlic bread, which we make together every Friday.  Connor makes the dough for the base while Gabriel preps the toppings/sauce. We even bought a pizza stone to make sure the crust is extra crispy.

Favorite hobbies: One of our favorite hobbies is watching movies. We love to watch movies with friends and family, and every year we have an Oscars viewing party where we rank all of the nominees (The winner of which gets to choose any movie of their choosing for us all to watch). We also have an annual watch party of all of the Lord of the Rings movies.

Favorite holiday: Our two favorite holidays are Passover, which we celebrate with Gabriel’s family, and Christmas, which we celebrate with Connor’s family. On both occasions we eat a lot of yummy food and spend time catching up with our extensive extended families.

Melissa & Mike

Hi!  We are Mike and Melissa. First and foremost, thank you for reading this and getting to know us. This is a glimpse of who we are as a couple, as individuals and of the parents we hope to become. Fun Facts About Mike & Melissa

Favorite Places: We love to travel to the Caribbean especially to the beautiful beaches of Mexico and Jamaica. We also like to take day trips to Cape May, NJ or any other beach town in New Jersey. Some of our favorite vacations have been with friends. We loved visiting Del Ray Beach, Florida and Charleston, South Carolina. Some places on our bucket list include Italy, Japan, and we hope to visit San Diego, California and Providence, Rhode Island.

Favorite Foods: We both enjoy Mexican, Italian and Japanese food. Some of our favorite dinners include fajitas, homemade pizza, and sushi. We also like to cook together and have some favorite dishes like steak and crab legs or omelets with blueberry pancakes. More favorites include barbequing on the grill especially in the summer and we enjoy fresh seafood dishes. For dessert we both love to get ice cream or water ice. Mike’s favorite desserts are cupcakes and apple pie. Melissa’s favorite desserts are strawberry shortcake and chocolate chip cookies.

Favorite Hobbies: We always make time to spend quality time together and some of our favorite things to do include relaxing on the beach, going for walks with our puppy, we love to play mini golf, and we are fans of all Philly sports. Mike’s favorite hobby is football and for Melissa it’s yoga, reading and decorating for the holidays, especially Christmas. Most of all, we love spending time with family.

Favorite Music: We like almost all genres of music. We have seen some really amazing artists in concert including Stevie Wonder, Bruno Mars, Steely Dan and D’Angelo. We almost always have music on and love to watch NPR’s Tiny Desk concerts.

Joey & Matt

Hello! We (Matt & Joey) met working at a music venue in Washington DC. Eventually, our work crushes became very real, and we have been in a committed relationship ever since. We have been together for six years and our relationship has been tested more in the first two years than most are in the first 10. After facing challenges like job loss, the pandemic, sickness and the loss of loved ones, we proved to each other that our love is pretty stinking boundless. We made a commitment to be together and grow our family through adoption.

Independent from one another, we both wanted to adopt. Growing up, our homes were always an open door, always inviting in friends who needed a break from their own homes or just wanted the warmth that our families offer. We know that this is a rare set up for people, and for that we are grateful. Our home now is the same, and our door is always open (metaphorically – otherwise we keep it locked). This is why we find adoption so beautiful – family is not defined by anything other than love.

We can’t wait to meet the special child who is going to add more light to our lives, and we are ready to provide them with a safe and colorful home to call their own.

We are Loren and Rob. We want to express our admiration for your strength and bravery in considering adoption for your baby. Favorite Places: We both enjoyed our honeymoon in Amsterdam and London.  In England, we visited Stonehenge and in Amsterdam we enjoyed boat rides on the canals. We also loved exploring Breckenridge, Colorado.  But, nothing beats cuddling on the couch watching a movie with our cats.

Favorite Foods. We both love Italian foods; pretty much any type of pasta or pizza, and definitely Italian bread.  Rob can bake awesome Italian bread!  Loren enjoys Thai food and Rob always looks forward to dessert.

Favorite Hobbies: When the weather is nice, we enjoy riding bikes in scenic areas or taking walks through parks and wooded areas.  When it’s colder outside, we love to build all types of Lego.

Favorite Holidays: We love Halloween and Christmas/Hanukkah because we love to decorate the house. Rob has many animatronics for Halloween and lots of lawn decorations for Christmas. We plan the display weeks in advance. We also love hosting Thanksgiving every year for good food and lots of family time.

Favorite Hobbies: Laura loves to sew, garden, and read. Can loves playing board games, and the guitar. On the weekends you might find us at the local farmer’s market, or at trivia with friends.

Favorite Holidays: We love Halloween, when we get to make homemade costumes and hand out candy on our vibrant neighborhood block! We also love Thanksgiving, where we cook and visit with our big extended families. And, of course, we love to celebrate our unique cultural traditions like Lunar New Year and Mardi Gras!

Raul & Isaac

Hi!  We are Raul and Isaac, and we first want to thank you for considering us as parents. This is a glimpse into our lives, and we hope something here resonates with you. We met and were married in Boston, and we currently live in Philadelphia.

We are excited to grow our family through adoption. Already proud “Uncle Tios” to little ones of close friends and family, we are eager to raise a curious, joyful, and confident child of our own. “Papa” Raul will ensure a bilingual household full of delicious food. “Dada” Isaac will encourage sports and fun activities while sharing his love for science. We will parent with honesty and compassion, encouraging them to grow their independence while providing safety and comfort at home.

Some Fun Facts About Raul and Isaac:

Favorite Places: Most of Raul’s family still live in Guatemala City, so we visit often. Our favorite place there is Lake Atitlan because we like taking a boat to see the towns surrounding the lake. We recently traveled to Portugal for our honeymoon and want to return when our family has grown.

Favorite Foods: We eat a variety of cuisine, although Isaac is more adventurous than Raul. We have friends of many backgrounds and nationalities, and we cook for one another at our supper clubs. Raul is a fantastic cook, and frequently makes pizza, tacos, soups, salads, and much more – including his fan-favorite Tres leches cake!

Favorite Hobbies: Raul is interested in the arts (attending concerts, walking museums, design planning, drawing, etc.) while Isaac is much more sports-focused; he stays active playing in softball, basketball, and football leagues and rarely misses his Boston sports teams play. But we both share a common love for board games, video games, and reading.

Favorite Holidays: While we make sure to express our love and appreciation year-round, we use our birthdays to celebrate one another. Holidays are spent with family, with Thanksgiving primarily spent with Isaac’s family and Christmas spent with Raul’s family. And our anniversary is a special time for us two to reflect on our time together and how we want to continue to grow.

Neil & Madeline

Hello!

We are Madeline and Neil, high school sweethearts who have been together for most of our lives. We love exploring new places, eating yummy food, and spending time with the people we love.

The day we adopted our son Theo was the happiest day of our lives so far. Theo is such a wonderful kid, he’s always smiling and playing. He loves spending time with other kids and we know that he’ll be the best big brother ever.

Fun Facts About Madeline & Neil

Favorite Places: We’ve been lucky enough to visit 13 countries around the world and 39 states in the USA. Before becoming parents, our favorite trips were to Italy and South Korea. Our favorite trip so far with our son was to Mexico.

Favorite Holiday: Our favorite holiday is “Chrismukkah” when we bring together our favorite activities, decorations, and foods from both Jewish and Christian traditions. Theo loves to “light” the candles on his play menorah and hang ornaments on the tree.

Favorite Foods: Madeline loves sweets, especially chocolate ice cream. She claims that we first started dating because Neil worked at an ice cream story and gave her free ice cream. Neil loves all food and trying foods from different cultures, but nothing beats a tasty ramen bowl and his mom’s Chuletas and Guallo Pinto. Theo’s favorite foods change every day, right now he loves to dip everything in ketchup, hummus, or guacamole.

Favorite Hobbies: Neil loves sports, he’s competed in rowing, running, biking, and triathlons. Madeline loves reading, she read more than 100 books last year. We’re teaching Theo about both, he loves cheering for the Zamboni at hockey games, going for bike rides with his dad, and snuggling up with his mom to read bedtime stories.

We have been together since 2014 and married since 2018. We adopted our son Mill in February 2024.

Our days are filled with love, art, music, laughter, travel, traditions, and more. We enjoy exploring parks and museums with our son, cooking big meals, and spending time with our family in New York City where we live.

Becoming parents was the best thing that ever happened to us and we are so excited to welcome a second child into our family! Our son can’t wait to become a big brother!

Fun facts about Jon and Sami:

Favorite places: We have a summer tradition: one week at a lake house in upstate New York and another week at a beach house at the Jersey shore! Throughout the year, we love visiting Philadelphia where we used to live and where our son was born.

Favorite foods: Every Wednesday we have a big family dinner where all our relatives in New York City get together for a meal at our house. We take turns on who cooks the dinner, but our favorite is chili and cornbread (or take out Chinese when we are all too tired to cook!)

Favorite hobbies: Jon works at a museum. One perk is that we get into every other museum in New York City for free! When we aren’t visiting museums, we love to spend time with our son at swim lessons and gymnastics classes. On lazy Sundays, we like to go to a neighborhood park, lay out a picnic blanket, and read.

Favorite holidays: Sami enjoys cooking Thanksgiving dinner, and Jon loves a big traditional family Christmas!

Hi, my name is Dana and thank you for taking time to get to know me.  I am a single mother currently raising my five-year-old son Chase, who I adopted from birth in an open adoption. I believe my stable and loving home would be a wonderful place for another child to grow and thrive. I am blessed to have wonderful relationships, and support from my parents, siblings, extended family, and a large network of friends.  I have a fulfilling career as a Human Resources Executive and for the last 11 years have worked for an organization that makes life-saving medicines for patients. We live about an hour north of New York City in a family-oriented community.

I am the oldest sister and have three younger brothers.  My parents raised us with unconditional love and support. I always felt that there was nothing that I could do that would change how they felt about me. Even when I made mistakes during those hard teenage years, I always had guidance, love, and encouragement.

Our family is big & silly, and we love to spend time together. We love celebrating birthdays and milestones, traveling, going to the movies, or just hanging out.  Our family is extremely diverse and is blended from a myriad of backgrounds including African American, Caribbean, Latino, White and LGBTQ.

On both sides of my family, there have been many adoptions. When thinking about starting a family, the hope to adopt was in the forefront of my heart.

Fun Facts About Dana

Favorite places: My favorite places always include a great beach and great food because Chase and I love to swim in the ocean.  Our most favorite places are Costa Rica, Aruba and Mexico.

Favorite foods: Growing up in a diverse family means that we absolutely LOVE connecting around food. Some of my favorites are macaroni and cheese, curry chicken, rice and beans, tacos and sauteed veggies.  I also really love ice cream.

Favorite holidays: Thanksgiving and Christmas but I also really love birthday celebrations. I love traditions, decorating and most importantly spending time with people I love.

Favorite sports teams: I played volleyball in college, so my favorite women’s volleyball team is Nebraska Cornhuskers.  My favorite football team is the Philadelphia Eagles. I get a lot of flak for this because I was born and raised in NY but I love the Eagles. I support NY with my love of the NY Knicks basketball team.

Favorite hobbies: Our favorite thing to do is to travel, see the world, and learn about other cultures. As a family, we prioritize going on vacations together because it’s the perfect way for us to connect and create long-lasting memories.  We travel typically 3-4 times a year and this year we are headed to Japan, Aruba and are planning to also see Belize.

If we had to describe our life in just three words, we’d call it fun, stable, and community-oriented. We have a large group of local friends and family, and we love to play games, make art, volunteer in our neighborhood, and spend time outside.

Favorite Places: We love the Oregon coastline because it combines Liz’s love of the ocean and Jacob’s love of the woods! We also love Vermont, where Liz’s family lives. Above all, our ultimate favorite place to be is at home with a movie or good book.

Favorite Foods: Jacob’s top picks are pizza, pumpkin pie, and tacos. Liz’s favorite foods are pad thai, burgers, and ice cream.

Favorite Hobbies: Liz likes to write, paint, and try new recipes. Jacob likes drawing, reading, and watching his favorite soccer team, Arsenal. Together, we enjoy board games, getting water ice around the corner from our house, and volunteering at our local community fridge.

Favorite Music: Jacob’s listens to a lot of motown, soul, classic and indie rock, and jazz. Liz listens to almost every genre, but her favorites are rock, R&B, and folk music.

Favorite Places: We love to travel and some of our favorite places have been Sweden, Alaska, and Montana. When we want to stay closer to home, we really like to go camping and enjoy being in nature.

Fun Facts About Rishan & Jason

Favorite Places: Rishan loves visiting her hometown of Rome, Italy—especially for family time and delicious food. Jason loves going to the beach. Together they cherish family road trips or a nice family vacation by the water, whether it’s a lake or the ocean.

Favorite Foods: As a true Italian Rishan obviously finds joy eating pasta or pastries (sweet tooth!) but she cannot pass a week without spicy food, especially the ones from her parents’ country Eritrea. Jason is a true New Yorker; his favorite food is Pizza! He is always on the search for the best slice in NYC.  They love discovering new restaurants and trying out all sorts of different foods in Brooklyn.

Favorite Hobbies: Rishan enjoys cooking, crafting, and amateur team sports like volleyball. Jason is passionate about technology, reading, barbecuing, and gardening. Together, they’re always planning their next adventure—traveling is their favorite way to connect and learn as a family.

Favorite Holidays: Rishan treasures Christmas trips with her family, whether in Brooklyn or back in Italy. Jason hosts a legendary Thanksgiving with his juicy smoked Turkey, turning their home into a hub of warmth, laughter, and great food. Fun Facts About Josie & Kevin

Favorite places: Bahamas (where Kevin is from) and Puerto Rico (where Josie’s family is from).  Our favorite vacation ever was South Africa for our honeymoon.  We have traveled a lot (more than 25 countries) and love it, but there truly is no place like home.

Favorite holidays: Christmas!  Every year we spend Christmas Eve with Josie’s family and then go to the Bahamas to spend time with Kevin’s family for Christmas and New Year’s.  Easter is a close second for Josie because she loves setting up the Easter egg hunt.

Favorite hobbies: Kevin reads and collects local art as well as art from the Bahamas.  Josie loves watching movies and dancing to all different kinds of music.

Hello! We are Brian and Katy. We are so grateful to you for taking the time to look through our photos and read our story to get to know us a bit more. We have a strong commitment to each other, our family, and our friends. We cannot wait to grow our family in a loving, warm, and safe home.

We have been together for 14 years and made our home in Philadelphia. We share a love of traveling, the outdoors, our dog, and spending quality time with family and friends. We are so grateful to grow our family through adoption.

We know this is an enormous decision you’re making, and we want to wish you all the support and love during this time. We know this isn’t an easy decision, but we also know it comes from deep love. We hope to extend that love as adoptive parents.

Fun Facts about Katy & Brian

Hobbies: We both love to be active: Katy playing tennis and Brian running. We love going to music concerts, especially outside in the summer. We enjoy hiking with our dog and taking her swimming.

Foods: Brian is a great cook, which Katy gets to enjoy most nights 😉 We also love to explore different restaurants in Philadelphia and grateful for all the diverse foods options we have close by.

Favorite Places: Katy and Brian both love to travel. Our favorite places we have traveled together include England, Egypt, Panama, and South Africa.

Favorite Sports Teams: Katy loves all Philadelphia sports teams, especially the Phillies and Eagles. Brian cheers for the JETS-JETS-JETS
